Some Autumn Tasks

As autumn approaches there are a number of tasks which need to be done, both administrative and practical, mundane and educational.
On the practical mundane side I noticed to-day that there seems to be a growing amount of litter and so an hour or two litter picking needs to be scheduled. If we can keep on top of this it may discourage others to add to the problem.
On the administrative side then we would like to arrange an Open Meeting soon to spread the message and show people some of the natural wonders on their doorstep. A Management Group meeting is schedules for late September and this can be one of the agenda items.
The recent rain deluge has filled the local pond but since its restoration in July ( see web site ) it is important that a programme of maintenance is instituted. I am meeting our Pond Warden next week to discuss this.

The Master Source

A website has been created which describes the aims and activities of The Friends of Mickleover Meadows
This blog will supplement the information found there.
